At GreenSource Partners, we have a particular perspective.

For centuries now, civilized society has seemed to be very successful. We have grown, industrialized, produced more modern conveniences, and have even discovered that we needed to get cleaner, and done so.

One would think that if we continue to develop, become more efficient, and continue to cut back on pollution and consumption because we know it’s bad, things would work out just fine.

The problem is that, even though we have made these “improvements”, we have more problems. As a result of 5 years collecting data at sea, ocean researcher Roger Payne has said that we are probably better off eating red meat than ocean fish because of the concentrations of heavy metals found in whales throughout the worlds oceans. 36% of our nation’s rivers are impaired by at least one toxic contaminant. These two examples are simply the results of burning fossil fuels for energy and using petroleum-based fertilizers and pesticides. The list, sadly, goes on and on.

The reason for all of these impediments is that, for a long time we have been assuming we are at odds with our environment. The illusion of control of nature has cost many people their lives, or their quality of life. They include disease victims, soldiers, those with birth defects, and many with undiagnosed mental challenges that lead to marital and family problems. These are the result of everything from “sick building syndrome” to contaminated groundwater, to manufacturing plant emissions, to nutrient-poor food, to wars.

We at GreenSource Partners intend to make a tangible difference in sustainable development by empowering innovative companies to succeed in bringing the technologies, products and services to market that will collectively start to undo the damaging patterns that have developed over centuries.

To do this, society will have to understand and align with the forces of nature. We believe there is a core principle that, if followed, will head us in that direction and will necessarily drive the global economy in coming years and decades. That principle is sustainable development. Sustainable development: meeting the needs of the world today without compromising our current environment, food supply, quality of life, and economy and, particularly without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs, is the fundamental driving philosophy of GreenSource Partners.

We consider technologies in energy, water, agriculture, building, and transportation to be the five basic leverage points. Infusing these areas with the brightest minds and innovations, and integrating them in ways that turn out to be only natural, will bring about environmental sustainability leading to sustainable development, a clean, healthy environment, and even greater peace and prosperity.
